DuctHide
Wallets really made from DuctHide or duct tape?
Okay, you
got us.
These wallets are
constructed 100% from duct tape but because most people don't believe
that such a high quality wallet can made from this well known, tough
fabric, we
decided to have a bit of fun and call it Duct Hide.
Some of our earlier photos show seams and edging trim on our wallet
covers
but we no longer make them like that. All wallet covers are now one
piece which allows us to avoid overlapping or edging tape. They truly
are excellent & unique items!

- how do you
justify that exorbitant price?
This is a
great question because we can prove that our wallets are
actually SEVEN TIMES
CHEAPER than greeting cards!
Here's our
thinking
on this one. (okay,
cover
your ears for this one...)
These
specialty
wallets are like the Rolls Royce of greeting cards for
two reasons: 1. They convey your special message and 2. provide a
valuable service as a loot container after delivering that message. A
greeting card conveys your message and is good for starting fires or
burning up storage space once the message is delivered, right?
The life
span of a
greeting card is maybe 6 months (if you're a pack
rat card saver) and over that time you'll look at it perhaps six times.
Your new wallet's life span is at least one year and you'll be looking
at it almost every day!

Wallets?
 DuctHide wallets are
made
by stay-at-home moms. Right now these folks reside in Regina,
Saskatchewan
where our company started but soon there will be stay-at-home moms from
all over the world making these things. Our dream is to be able to
provide jobs for assembers wherever our wallets are being sold so we
can support the local economy.
How
many colors of
wallets are there?
Right now
we have
about 28
different colors and patterns of duct tape and that makes for a pile of
color combinations. 0 we'll have more than
750 different color
combinations of wallets
on our website. Some of the
combos look
horrific but hey,
who are we to judge? if you want a color scheme we don't have, just
email us at the address below and we'll make one for you.
How
long does it
take to make a wallet?
In
the beginning it takes about 2 hours per wallet to learn how to do it
right. Over time, with practice the assemblers can reduce their
production time to somewhere between 20 minutes to half an hour per
wallet. The HayFlick Holders take a little less time to make as they
have fewer credit card pockets and only come in a single color (besides
the standard inner grey color for the money pockets)
How
long are the
wallets warrantied?
DuctHide
wallets are
warrantied for one year but if someone was really unhappy because their
wallet fell apart in 13 months, we'd look after them. All we ask is
that people pay for shipping so we can get a new one out to them.
What makes
your
wallets unique?
Probably
the most
important
factor regarding the uniqueness of our wallets is our concern for
quality and value. We want these accessories to last a good,
long
time for our customers
so we take a great deal of pride in designing and assembling them
carefully. At DuctHide it's our desire to have
fun doing our jobs. We design our website and supporting information
products with a sense of humor because we feel that there's not nearly
enough smiling and laughing going on in the world.

You should

decaled wallets for just about every interest you can imagine. Sports
wallets, fishing, hunting and anything else we can find decals for.
We're also producing a simple wallet that has a place for your ID or
bus pass on the outside so you can just flash your wallet rather than
digging through your stuff to show it. The
idea isn't orginal but our twist on it is!
What
is Kaizen
and Why does it
drive you guys Crazy?
Dang those
Japanese!
Why can't they
leave well enough alone? Since we learned about this awesome idea our
lives
have never been the same. This is the Japanese concept of continuous
improvement and if a person isn't careful, it can make you despise the
work
you turned out yesterday. So, without beating ourselves up, we are
constantly enhancing our practices and
products and these changes seem to occur right after we improve
ourselves, hmmm.
Kaizen is a pretty dang cool philosophy and one every person should
contemplate.
How have
you
improved your wallets?
Over
the past few months we have implemented plenty of improvements in our
DuctHide wallets. First, we've added quality by switching to 4" tape
from 2 " so we can avoid having a seam in the wallet cover. (You can

Second, we've
enhanced the finishing of our
wallets. If you order a single color wallet, it doesn't have edge
trimming like our old wallets. Thirdly, we've vastly increased our
selection and exposure by appealing to several retail websites and
enlarging our selection to hundreds of different wallets.
Whatever color combo you want, we likely have it!
